The Green Home Scheme is a method used to assess the environmental performance of new home designs in New Zealand. Homes that are found to have a good environmental performance are provided with a certificate.
The scheme focuses mostly on environmental issues. Some health and safety issues are also looked into. The homes are assessed on water efficiency and conservation, indoor air pollutants, waste disposal, main appliances and energy use, space heating and cooling, waste disposal and more.
